Optimum production is achieved in plants up to 2 feet
(61 cm) in height and distanced about 7 to 12 inches
(17 to 30 cm) from the light, and in a wide variety of configurations. It is especially effective in combination with small-scale hydroponics systems such as Emily's Garden.
The Sunstreamer can be used in several ways:
- As a personal grower in tight spaces such as a small closet
- In multiples for room-sized operations
- In combination with existing H.I.D.s
- As a light source for starts*
*Caution: The Sunstreamer can easily "burn" cuttings if placed too close. Keep lights about 4 feet away from new starts and no closer than 18" for
young rooted starts.
The Sunstreamer is energy efficient, using little more electricity than a 100-watt incandescent bulb yet producing light many times the intensity! It's lux output very closely matches 300 to 400 watt
halide. The Sunstreamer has a further advantage because it will restart easily in the case of a
power failure or a voltage drop.
The key to the Sunstreamer's performance is threefold:
- Custom designed, high-output electronic ballast with quiet, flicker-free operation
- Highly reflective, custom-designed reflector
